Are you big and brave enough for the Big Thrills yet?

Though the scary roller coasters and thrilling simulator rides at Disneyland are certainly in a minority — Disney prefers to go for the all-rounder, highly-themed experiences — fantastic frights are still there across both parks. But, whether you're taking a flight into space or a swirl through the Australian seas, they often come with several important safety restrictions and recommendations.

The most commonly noted of these are the height restrictions, whereby children nearing the set minimum height will be measured with a "height stick" at the entrance to ensure they can ride. Rides also have other recommendations, particularly for expectant mothers or those with heart, back or neck problems.

Big Thunder Mountain

• Minimum height to ride — 1.02 m (3' 4")
• Visitors must be in good health and not affected by medical problems, such as heart, back or neck problems, which might be worsened by this experience.
• Expectant mothers should not ride.

Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril

• Minimum height to ride — 1.40 m (4' 7")
• Features one inversion.
• Not suitable for children under 8 years of age.
• Visitors must be in good health and not affected by medical problems, such as heart, back or neck problems, which might be worsened by this experience.
• Expectant mothers should not ride.

La Plage des Pirates

• Maximum height to play — 1.40 m (4' 7")

Pirates of the Caribbean

• Visitors may get slightly splashed from two small flumes.
• Expectant mothers should not ride.
• Due to the downward flumes and boats occasionally bumping into each other when approaching the loading area, it is recommended that those with serious spinal, back or neck problems also do not ride.

Casey Jr. - Le Petit Train du Cirque

• Not suitable for children under 1 year of age.

• Minimum height to ride — 1.32 m (4' 4")
• Features an intense launch and three inversions.
• Not suitable for children under 10 years of age.
• Visitors must be in good health and not affected by medical problems, such as heart, back or neck problems, which might be worsened by this experience.
• Expectant mothers should not ride.

Autopia

• Minimum height to ride — 0.81 m (2' 8")
• Minimum height to drive — 1.32 m (4' 4")
• Not suitable for children under 1 year of age.
• Not recommended for those who may be affected by bumps and sudden stops from the movement of the vehicles, or those susceptible to petrol fumes.
• Expectant mothers should not ride.

Orbitron - Machines Volantes

• Not suitable for children under 1 year of age.

Star Tours: L'Aventure Continue

• Minimum height to ride — 1.02 m (3' 4")
• Not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Children between the ages of 3 and 7 must be accompanied by an adult onto the attraction.
• Not suitable for sufferers of motion sickness.
• Visitors must be in good health and not affected by medical problems, such as heart, back or neck problems, which might be worsened by this experience.
• Expectant mothers should not ride.

Crush's Coaster

• Minimum height to ride — 1.07 m (3' 6")
• Features no inversions. The vehicles spin during the main roller coaster section.
• Not recommended for children under 7 years of age.
• Not suitable for sufferers of motion sickness due to the spinning nature of the vehicles.
• Visitors must be in good health and not affected by medical problems, such as heart, back or neck problems, which might be worsened by this experience.
• Expectant mothers should not ride.

Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop

• Minimum height to ride — 0.81 m (2' 8")

RC Racer

• Minimum height to ride — 1.20 m (3' 11")
• Safety advice and height restrictions will be added as soon as possible.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

• Minimum height to ride — 1.02 m (3' 4")
• Not suitable for children under 3 years of age, not recommended for children under 5.
• Visitors must be in good health and not affected by medical problems, such as heart, back or neck problems, which might be worsened by this experience.
• Expectant mothers should not ride.

Moteurs... Action! Stunt Show Spectacular

• May be considered frightening.
• Not recommended for those likely to find the loud nouse, gunshots and pyrotechnics disturbing.
