When the eagerly-anticipated Toy Story 3 hits cinemas in Summer 2010, the ensemble cast of toys themselves will be ready and waiting to play in a brand new land at Walt Disney Studios Park...
Imagine exploring a young boy's back yard, littered with colourful playthings and games. Except, some of those toys are the same size as you — and some tower right overhead! Toy Story Playland will shrink you in size to play with the toys like never before!
Three brand new attractions will be included:
Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop
Near the entrance to the land, this huge training tower will feature six giant parachutes like those used by the green army soliders as they jump through the banisters of Andy's house in the first film. Climb aboard, and you'll be shown the ropes in a bouncing, free-falling ride for all ages.
Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin
Woody's classic slinky toy friend chases his tail around in circles for a new spinning ride, which will feature a queue line through a house made of building blocks and surrounding viewing areas on several levels.
RC Racer
The biggest attraction of the new land is a towering halfpipe, just like the bright red Hot Wheels track mastered by the toys in the films. This time, with you shrunk down to size, you'll get to try it out for yourself, sliding back and forth to face the sky and the ground in a dizzying racecar ride. The queue line will look like a playset of track pieces joined together, whilst RC, the remote controlled car himself, sits out front for a photo op.
And more...
Toy Story Playland will also feature extensive, oversized themeing based around the film's toys, all set amongst thick greenery and planting in a large expanse of land behind the current Toon Studio and Art of Disney Animation. This has also led to Studio Tram Tour: Behind the Magic having its route permanently moved.
To be launched as part of Disney's New Generation Festival.
